Success Works is committed to participatory approaches and to assisting organisations and individuals to learn from their experiences. We respect lived experience and practice wisdom and believe these to be the cornerstone of effective evaluation, performance and policy review. We utilise Appreciative Inquiry and Narrative approaches as key strategies in our engagement with stakeholders. We take a systems thinking approach in our data analysis underpinned by an understanding of complexity and chaos theory.
We combine qualitative and quantitative methodologies. We use qualitative approaches to gain an initial understanding of the issues. We use qualitative and quantitative approaches to data collection and supplement these through access to existing program and administrative datasets. Further qualitative investigation allows us to gain a deeper understanding of the context as well as the enablers and barriers to effective implementation, and to formulate evidence-based recommendations.
Our mixed methods approach achieves a robust representation of the scope, impact and outcomes of the policy or program. Our commitment to qualitative engagement ensures the establishment and maintenance of positive relationships with stakeholders to ensure ownership of the research processes and findings.
While working collaboratively with government and community agencies, we are also committed to ensuring that our consultancy is independent and that our consultation and reporting methods stand up to scrutiny.
Our written documentation is of high quality. We are able to provide substantive reports and succinct summaries which are easy to read and which act as a guide and working document for those responsible for implementation.
Success Works is privileged to have worked extensively with Aboriginal and Torres Islander communities across Australia. We are committed to cultural competence and to ensuring that we represent the voices, values and perspectives of ATSI community members fairly and truthfully in our work. To this end, our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander associate consultants lead the consultation processes when we are working with ATSI communities and we hold ourselves accountable to the communities we consult with.
