Training

Success Works has, in the last three years, developed and implemented a mentoring program (MentoringWorks) for allied health graduates working in regional and rural Victoria for the Victorian Department of Human Services. In undertaking the project, Success Works has developed and delivered a range of outcomes including:

  • A clear framework for the mentoring process that can be used across all allied health disciplines.
  • An evidence-based training program for mentors and mentees.
  • A needs assessment program to address individual allied health workers professional and personal development needs.
  • Individual learning and professional development plans tailored to the individual allied health worker’s needs.
  • An effective system of linking appropriate mentors to mentees.
  • An evaluation of the efficacy of a mentoring program on the recruitment and retention rates in rural Victoria.

This project has equipped us with an in-depth knowledge of what works in mentoring for allied health staff, as well as strong understanding of the needs of newly qualified allied health professionals working in rural, regional and remote locations.  The program has been independently evaluated and subsequently continued due to its success.

Our Mentoring program is flexible and can be modified to suite specific requirements.  Through MentoringWorks, organisations across Victoria have received training ranging from a two day workshop to a 12 month program implementing a mentoring culture into their workforce.  Additional resources are available via our website www.mentoringworks.com.au.
